Our foundation is freedom, and our mission is to provide a place for families to meet, grow, share and collaborate free from religious restrictions, health and medical mandates, or governmental overreach. We believe we all have the right to community and to make the best decisions for ourselves and our families. We strive to offer something for every type of homeschooling family, and to build a strong foundation together for those wanting to not only educate, but also enrich our children and each other.
Our Why
Gathre was born in the summer of 2020. After the church where our homeschool co-op met- along with everything else deemed “non-essential”- was shut down by the Governor, we found ourselves stuck at home; alone, isolated and struggling to keep positive. We spent months waiting hopefully for things to improve, to no avail.
Finally we decided, why not stop waiting and just start our own group? We dreamt of a freedom-minded community filled with others like us who were unafraid and ready to return to living life. We began as a small group meeting in a single room with little organization and have since grown to a large community meeting multiple days a week, offering everything from nature based free-play, field trips to a full-day co-op with elective offerings!
Gathre is here to stay, and we strive to be a safe haven to those wanting to live outside of governmental control and regulation, with a strong natural minded focus.
